Mr. C K Somany, Chairman

Mr. C K Somany is an acknowledged expert in glass technology, who laid the foundation of Hindusthan National Glass and Industries Ltd. in 1946 with a vision to become the largest producer of glass containers in the world. Presently, he is serving as the Non-Executive Chairman of the Company and is providing policy guidelines for the management and administration of the Company. He holds an F.B.I.M. (London) Degree and a Degree in Glass Plant Instrumentation from Honeywell Brown, Minneapolis , U.S.A.

Mr. C.K. Somany has served as the President of the All India Glass Manufactures' Association, Bengal Glass Manufacturers' Association and several other commercial and non-commercial organizations. He has served as the Chairman of the Development Panel for Glass Industry formed by the Government of India, Ministry of Industry between 1995 and 1997. He is also associated with various charitable and philanthropic organizations carrying on the traditions of his illustrious ancestors. He was inducted in the Board in the year 1970. He subsequently took over as the Executive Director of the Company and thereafter as the Managing Director of the Company, a post held by him up to September, 2000.

Mr. Sanjay Somany, Vice Chairman & Managing Director

Mr. Sanjay Somany is a Commerce Graduate and has obtained a diploma in Diesel Engineering. He is also very well versed in Glass Manufacturing Technology.

Mr. Sanjay Somany, is the son of Mr. C K Somany, who had been the Managing Director of M/s. Glass Equipment (India) Limited (a subsidiary of HNG). He has also served as the President of All India Glass Manufacturers' Federation. He is, at the present, the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of HNG. With an experience of around 26 years, Mr. Sanjay Somany is actively involved in the management and administration of the Company.

Mr. Mukul Somany, Vice Chairman & Managing Director

Mr. Mukul Somany is a Commerce Graduate. He is a noted Industrialist in the Glass Manufacturing Industry and has contributed significantly in the progress of the Company. At present, he is the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of the Company. He has an experience of around 21 years in the Glass Industry. He is currently the President of AIGMF.
